GFSmith Colorplan Archive - Brief & Problem analysis
We have been approached by GFSmith to provide work for an exhibition that presents the colorplan range with an underlying theme driven by process.
The key focus will be on the print and process within the production and there is an option to create either a limited edition single print or a collection.
The size will be A4 square, 230 x 230mm and my color is Lockwood green.
Problem analysis & Requirements
Limited to a 210 x 210mm format.
Consider the format and what ideas this could bring.
Consider how much paper will be visible as this is the focus, creating a heavy design that takes up most of the paper will distract away from the quality and move away from focusing on the color plan range.
Focus on physical properties.
Concentrate on highlighting the quality of the Lockwood Colorplan paper.
Visual concept will come from the Color choice.
Consider the process gone into making the paper see the GFSmith Heritage collection and watch films on production to understand there values.
Focus on the process involved.
Create a concept for the visual design that compliments the production process and the Colorplan choice.
Link my underlying investigation of traditional process's and the influence of digital technologies within this concept where possible. COP expansion.
Possible ways of expanding it into a print series, so figuring out a concept that has breadth for these possibilities.
