Stott & Atkinson Photography - Initial Delivery Ideas & Client Feedback
Initial ideas
Logo
Use a serif and sans serif to reference traditional and contemporary values.
Use contrasting weight too add a feeling of quality and trust.
Use a set colour pallete to communicate the multitude of emotions allowing a range of tone of voices too be applied to show the diverse approach of the clients and the moments they can capture.
The idea of space between the glyphs in one elements and close tracking in the other shows the coming together of 2 people.
Use smooth curves and angles to work off an idea of the contemporary and the traditional.
Straight on centralised positioning to suit the wes anderson style of shooting. A key touchpoint of the brand is there process's and this would allow a consistent layout too be applied too the brand collateral.
Work on ideas of curved paths and angular paths of type to reference elements of the + and O in a detailed way to show attention to detail within there photoshoots.
Layering of circles to show the coming together through wedding rings and keeps the old brand cues, while lines joining elements up further support this.
Play with small scale and large scale type to show the zoom in shots and zoomed out shots, place content in lots of white space for zoomed out for example.
The use of a & is more traditional but they still want the + as its a camera icon.

Use simple shape like circle and square to show the coming together of 2 people.
Strip the logo mark back to just a + to keep things real minimal, not sure this will connote the brands tone of voice though just the accuracy of there process.

Offset logo to one side to reference another shooting style.
Contrast type size to show the zooming in and zooming out of photos and also attention to detail and appreciation of negative space within the photo (Scenery of the shoot) and the quality of the paper (to show a focus on quality to create a high end tone of voice)
Add ornate corners too the business card to give it that feel of wedding stationary too, using stripped back ornate lines too repurpose it in a contemporary minimal way.
Zine Scamps
Focusing on the alternate positioning of the shots through a varied modular grid for positioning photos.
Working on scale, zoomed in photos present them small, zoomed out present them large for attention to detail and bold presentation and varied tone of voice in there photos.
Create detail shots to show attention to detail, crop small squares to support other photos.
Work on idea of taking colours from the photos and apply into gradients to show a contemporary feel.

Add icons and patterns that reference the scenery and the photographic process's.
Contrast black and white photos in the spreads to support idea of contemporary and traditional.
Price List/Invoice/Letterhead
All need too carry a soft and friendly tone of voice as these documents need too be conversational, minimal layouts and lightweight text with key attention drawn to only important elements.
Maybe have hand wrote invoices and letterheads too add that personality too the brands delivery and traditional feel?
Client Feedback & Plan
Suggested a run down of these plans and the favoured ones was;
The use of the type on a path as a reference too the circle
Keep the plus as a focus point within the icon, possibly use more icons but dont distract away from the logo
The use of a sans serif and serif to reference traditional and contemporary.
Repurpose a serif into a softer visual, creating a friendly tone of voice.
Carry this tone of voice across the minimal invoice and letterhead.
Dont use gradients or Patterns within the zine as it will lose focus on of the photographs.
Try out alternative movment with the photographs too show the varied shooting.
Try the straight on central alignment of elements as this is a key style of theres as is the offsetting.
