Triptych - Brief & Problem analysis

Triptych - Brief & Problem analysis

Brief & Problem analysis
The Triptych brief is a weekly submission run by student Kieran Walsh, all A1 posters will be contained within a yearbook at the end of the year. The brief calls on students on a weekly basis to create 1 poster as part of a trio of posters. Kieran's idea I believe was to create a modern interpretation of the religious 3 panel paintings that came about within the renaissance era. The brief is open in terms of what we can create, pick any subject you like using any process you like as long as it can be contained within the A1 frame.

Digital submissions should be A1 size with a 5mm bleed.

My first issues where as they always are with open briefs what subject to approach, I seem to prefer some restrictions or direction so I can begin focusing an idea round this.

What sort of process's do I want to use, a current thought is to create a complete hand rendered poster.

How can I bring technology into a traditional print output so I can carry on applying my COP methodology exploring traditional distributions and process's within a cyberspace age, maybe use the vinyl cutter with a pen added too it to create a digital drawing? Using traditional mediums like graphite and ink.

Should I collaborate with the other 2 creatives who submit with me to make them work as a series like traditional triptych paintings or do it solo, maybe even reference traditional triptych posters directly?

Do I use type or image together or solo, do I depend on the use of words and language to create context or depend solely on visual connotations. Or a combination of both to create an even stronger concept and delivery.

My Brief
